The history of our brand

1980 — Where it begins
Louis A. Guarino Jr. begins working in the jewelry industry at a well-known retail guild store in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.

1990 — Louis Anthony Jewelers opens its doors
Lou and Veronica start Louis Anthony Jewelers in a 900-square-foot location — with seed money generated from the sale of her wedding ring.

1992 — The billboards that made Pittsburgh smile
Veronica launches the "Have We Met…Yet?" billboard campaign featuring Lou as the brand, beginning a creative advertising presence in Pittsburgh that continues to this day.

1996 — GIA Graduate Gemologist
Lou earns his Graduate Gemologist degree from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Santa Monica.

2000 — A new home on Highland Road
Louis Anthony Jewelers relocates to a 2,000-square-foot store about a mile from the original location.

2001 — Family joins the business
Lou's sister Andrea joins the business.

2003 — The next generation arrives
To accommodate growing demand, the showroom is expanded — and Lou and Veronica's daughter Amie joins the business as a designer and store stylist.

2007 — "Remember, Each Day Is A Gift"
A new billboard campaign features Lou and Veronica with the tagline, "Remember, Each Day Is A Gift."

2008 — The showroom grows up
Renovations bring the addition of a Rolex boutique, goldsmith shop, conference room, and customer lounge.

2009 — Geeg comes home
Son Lou III — aka Geeg — returns home from New York to join the business in marketing and sales. A new billboard campaign features the next generation of Louis Anthony Jewelers.

2010 — A commission for a Secretary of State
Lou is commissioned to design and present a pin to former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.

2011 — Best Places to Work
Louis Anthony Jewelers is honored as one of "The Best Places to Work" by the Pittsburgh Business Times.

2012 — "Join the Family"
Daughter Vanessa joins the business as head of social media, and a new billboard campaign is launched inviting customers to "Join the Family."

2015 — Industry recognition
Veronica wins the Women's Jewelry Association Retailer of the Year Award, and Vanessa is named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Millennials in the Jewelry Industry.

2017 — Family Business Award
Louis Anthony Jewelers receives the Family Business Award from the Pittsburgh Business Times.

Today — Reimagined
A multiphase, 3,000-square-foot expansion — completed in 2023 — grows the store to more than 9,000 square feet, introducing a new Rolex environment, a David Yurman boutique, a full hospitality bar, newly designed jewelry showcases, refreshed lighting, and the Louis Anthony Home Collection.
